KC Aerial Vision provides voluntary, non-commercial aerial search support to assist first responders, search coordinators, and local communities during missing person, lost pet, and emergency response situations.
This page exists to clearly document our capabilities, limitations, safety standards, and role within the broader emergency response ecosystem — and to provide transparency regarding how drone technology can responsibly support ground-based search operations.
This service is not a replacement for emergency services and does not interfere with official response efforts. Instead, it exists as a support resource when aerial visibility can assist trained professionals in time-sensitive situations.
Search and rescue operations often rely on manpower, time, and visibility — all of which can be limited by terrain, weather, darkness, or scale.
Our role is to provide supplemental aerial situational awareness using modern unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) equipped with:
High-resolution optical cameras
Thermal imaging for heat differentials
GPS-referenced imaging and mapping
Real-time visual relay when permitted
This allows responders to:
Reduce ground search fatigue
Identify areas of interest faster
Rule out large zones safely
Improve coordination during time-sensitive searches
Provide aerial overwatch for search coordination
Assist with lost person and missing pet searches
Support law enforcement, fire departments, SAR teams, and animal recovery groups
Operate under FAA Part 107 regulations
Fly only with airspace authorization and local approval
Maintain detailed flight logs and imagery accountability
Provide post-mission imagery and situational documentation
Conduct law enforcement actions
Enter private property without permission
Replace emergency responders
Conduct autonomous or uncontrolled flights
Perform recovery or rescue operations ourselves
Our role is observation, documentation, and situational support only.
KC Aerial Vision operates under FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification, maintaining full compliance with:
Airspace authorization requirements (LAANC or manual approval)
Visual line-of-sight operations unless explicitly authorized
Night operations with anti-collision lighting
Altitude and airspace class restrictions
Aircraft registration and maintenance standards
Every mission is evaluated individually for:
Airspace classification
Proximity to people and structures
Weather and visibility conditions
Operational risk and safety planning
No flight is conducted if it compromises public safety or violates federal, state, or local regulations.
Thermal imaging can be a powerful situational awareness tool, especially in low-light or obscured environments.
Thermal data may help identify:
Heat signatures consistent with human presence
Recently disturbed ground or movement patterns
Areas of interest requiring closer inspection by ground teams
Important notes:
Thermal imaging does not identify individuals
Environmental conditions affect accuracy
All imagery is interpreted conservatively and ethically
Thermal data is used only as a supplemental aid, never as a sole decision-making tool.
KC Aerial Vision operates in coordination with:
Local law enforcement agencies
Fire departments and emergency management
Licensed wildlife recovery professionals
Search and rescue volunteers when requested
We do not self-deploy into active incidents.
Operations occur only when requested or approved by responsible parties or property owners.
We take privacy seriously.
No imagery is shared publicly without authorization
Sensitive data is secured and retained only when required
Flights avoid unnecessary exposure of private property
Operations are logged and documented responsibly
Our goal is to assist, not intrude — to help communities while respecting legal and ethical boundaries.
This page exists to:
Clarify our role in search and rescue support
Prevent misunderstanding about drone operations
Provide transparency for agencies and the public
Demonstrate responsible use of UAS technology
Establish trust through documentation, not marketing claims
Search and rescue work is serious, emotional, and time-sensitive.
This page exists to show that when drones are used, they are used professionally, lawfully, and with purpose.
If you are:
A law enforcement agency
A fire department or emergency coordinator
A licensed wildlife recovery professional
A property owner seeking guidance
You may contact KC Aerial Vision for coordination inquiries only.
This service is not a substitute for calling 911 or local emergency services.
